Making better decisions amid information overload

A stream of alerts, open tabs, and conflicting reactions can make it easy to miss important details. Consuming more content in that moment does not always lead to a better decision.

Bring your attention back

Mute the next alert and focus on one question: what exact claim am I trying to assess? Find its source, and separate what a post says from what it shows.

Review two or three reliable sources one at a time. Look beyond the headline: check the date, evidence, and any original document. If a decision is not urgent, a short break before reading again can help.

One claim at a time, the original source first, and independent confirmation next. This makes it easier to see what is known and what remains uncertain.
